i'm always confused by brunch...cause i like to suck down some raw clams right away...but then always feel weird having to get the sausage in the end.

That just reminded me of Judy Chicago's Dinner Party. It's not quite big enough to see details of all the vag-looking "place settings," but here's a look.

"The Dinner Party is a work by feminist artist Judy Chicago depicting place settings for 39 mythical and historical famous women throughout history. It was produced from 1974 to 1979 by a collaboration of many individual women and first exhibited in 1979.

The table is triangular and measures forty-eight feet on each side. Each place setting features a placemat / tablecloth with the woman's name and artworks relating to the woman's life, along with a napkin, utensils, glass / goblet, and a plate. The plates all feature a butterfly- or flower-like sculpture, representing the woman's vulva."

Also just reminded of Carolee Schneeman's "porn" I posted a month or so ago. She has an installation of her work (called "Breaking Borders") exhibiting at a gallery near my house till the 22nd. I really should go check it out.

Off to brunch with a friend. She's been in Bali for a month, so we have lots to catch up on. Happy dead-gawd-and-eggs day, y'all!

I wonder if she drinks bloody marys at brunch, too.

Does JSG still drink the BMs (hehehe)? Remember that whole "I'm a vegan but I just realized the fact that I've been drinking anchovies for decades" thing?

I did have a Bloody Mary! I just pretend they make 'em without Worcestershire sauce (featuring anchovies). Still, I won't drink a Bloody Caesar (for you Americans who don't know, that's a Bloody Mary, but made with Clam-tomato juice) because I swear I can taste the clams.

I think there's a punchline in there somewhere.

Yes, there is. *  ******* **** ******* **** ****, **  *** **** **** * ****?!

So now when someone mentions that they are a fan of Ani DiFranco, someone that I have declared an intense hatred for in the past...I will make it clear that I am not 'enthusiastic' about her music, but I will not punch the person in the nose (figuratively) with my harsh opinion of her work...

I think that has to do with maturity (young Matthew, hahaha!) and being in the world and knowing that whatever the fuck shite other people like can make you roll your eyes and such, but it doesn't mean you have to compromise or alter your own opinions. So good for you for at least trying to give other stuff a shot that you'd previously dismissed.

Uh, yeah...a form of maturity. I was NEVER the kind of guy who was dumb enough to slag something a girl I was interested in even being friends with to their face.
