thanks for the clarifications, matt! now, can you send me a copy of "make it happen"? c'mon. do it. make it happen.

(spinning keys on finger, russ pimberton style)

My email says I sent you it only three minutes after I sent you what we're all calling "Roadside Monument"

Let me make sure this is clear...the following is NOT No Particular Slogan. I saw a copy at Dan's house with the cover art and all...so, I know I don't have the actual CD, but this is a different line-up of tracks, right:

Disc 1:

Disfigurehead EP
01. Disfigurehead
02. Need You
03. Reason Enough
04. How Long?
Kingdom Of Jones EP
05. Encrusted
06. Another Song
07. Snake Oil
08. Daydream Riot
09. Kicking
Soda Pop 7"
10. Soda Pop
* no track eleven by some sort of computer error
Corolla Hoist 7"
12. Corolla Hoist
13. Thumbnail Sketch
Working Holiday 7"
14. Under The Ground
A Day In The Park LP
15. Spaceship
Ten Cent Fix
16. Make It Happen
Holmes 7"
17. Holmes
18. Junkie Blood
Bronze Cast 7"
19. Confidential
The Smitten Love Song Compilation
20. Look At What You've Done To Me Now
Now.2 7"
21. I'm Drunk
Cherry Smash 013 7"
22. Dildozer
Darla/Magnet 7"
23. Corolla Hoist (Live at WMBR)

Disc 2:

Queen Of The Tablewaters 7"
01. Queen Of The Tablewaters
02. Return To Cinder
Stream 7"
03. Stream
04. Coat Of Silence
* no track five by some sort of computer error
Chemical Imbalance Vol.3 No.1
06. Roadside Monument
Red Hot & Bothered Compilation
07. Empty Yard
Half-Cocked Soundtrack
08. The Want (live)
Slipknot 7"
09. Slipknot
10. Subterranean Death Ride Blues
Barristers: 2 Years In The Alley (1994-1996)
11. Star Fucker (live)
12. Boho/Alt. (live)
?
13. Wicked Thing (demo?)
Wicked Thing 7"
14. Organ Grinder
Rudy's Rockin' Kiddie Caravan LP
15. The Muffin Man
Halifax 1997**
16. My Apology (live)
Live At WMBR Boston
17. You Don't Miss Your Water (live)

(** I believe we figured out that this was recorded off of CBC Radio Two - I believe this caused the song to be labelled ""Live in Montreal" in other versions?)

That's the compilation Saint John Floyd sent me when I griped on the board about being the only one without a copy of No Particular Slogan.

I prettied it up with some nice Jim Woodring art and I think it looks pretty keen.

That was actually a question...that is not the same a No Particular Slogan, right?

I almost rented "Fast Food Nation" the other night but I've more or less decided to let that and "Art School Confidential" slide to the cheap section because I heard conflicting reviews from people I trust and the one thing they had in common was none of them were overwhelmingly positive.

It's actually snowing here.

And so, it is time for http://www.youtube.com/v/KbdyrRlYR2E.

I believe there is diethyl ether in that jug.

i've always been puzzled by the "if her daddy's rich take her out for a meal......if her daddy's poor just do what you feel" line. that can be interpreted a couple ways. you got to spend the money to please a rich girl, whereas a poor girl is used to being entertained on the cheap.
(i'm sure that this was the intent) however as a youngun, i always heard that and was like "is he saying that poor girls are 'easy'?" WTF is up with that??!!

by the way, you are not the only board member without a copy of "no particular slogan". i thought i had everything in it's original state(cept the one's i mentioned yesterday, thanks again!) but seeing that list, there's a couple things i don't have....i don't have the Barristers stuff, the WMBR song OR "muffin man". (which i had a conversation with scott about, in which he told me about the kid's project, but he made it seem like it got scrapped and that song ended up becoming "slipknot", i could be wrong about that.) also, you didn't feel the a capella song desrved a spot on your cd?? (i enjoy most of that a capella cd, by the way. like, when house cleaning or something. the version of "la vie en rose" is really beautiful.

Well, I didn't make the CD, so we can blame it on old jfloyd (I feel like if I say his name enough he will reappear). I have it elsewhere. I bought the A Cappella disc and really didn't care for it.

Scott's bit was fun, and some others...

...I thought that The Japonize Elephants did the best job, actually.

The fact that Modest Mouse's wasn't actually A Cappella was kinda funny.

I got that...I feel like Time skipped or something...I only read this post:

thanks for the clarifications, matt! now, can you send me a copy of "make it happen"? c'mon. do it. make it happen.

(spinning keys on finger, russ pimberton style)

when I responded to it this morning? When I received the email above (" forget about this mornings post!!!") I came here and saw no post...perhaps I just missed it?

Not a huge fan of Built to Spill, but but this is one of the best covers of Crazy Horse I have ever heard.. If it weren't for Doug Martsch's nasally emo voice, you would swear it was Crazy Horse playing.

I expect you've heard this before, it's just that I was sending it to my older cousin/obsessive Neil fan in Alberta.

aha. that was the post i was saying to disregard. ( i checked the crappity before i checked the previous days emails....)

for some reason, that link doesn't work, says i need to download something, but i'm assuming its their version of "cortez". which is amazing. some really nasty guitar in there. a friend of mine i went to school with (haven't seen in years) said he saw them play that live (like in 98 or something) and was totally floored.
