actually the the blown out end is alot of, just paper. about an an inch and a half, she would light them and not take a drag instantly, and just let it burn, the whole thing was real small on the filter end then would get wider alll the way to the other end.
i'd never seen anyone roll them like that before or after i met her.

Yeah, the filter end is skinny and it widens the closer you get to the top. You twist the fat end so the weed doesn't fall out. You light the end and so that the twisted part burns, and then you take a hit. They use a lot of wed, but it's great if you're sharing with more than 3 or 4 people.

Oh. And before you twist off the end, you thump the filter end on the table a few times to pack the weed. Then you can add a little more before twisting the end.

I still use the sailboat method.. though it's been a while since I rolled anything.
Mich used to roll em with the filter AND a paper clip that went down the center of the joint so you could hold it like a roach clip kinda. As you smoked it the paper clip would appear.

Randy's.  i'm sure they have em in your local smoke shop.  papers with built in "paper clips", just like your talking about.
