a few year's ago at springfest (pensacola's shitty version of memphis in may, city stages, etc.)  foreigner played.  mountain was playing at the same time, and i kinda wanted to watch leslie west play guitar, but i HAD to hear "jukebox hero" first.  goddammit if it wasn't the LAST motherfuckin song they played. i thought for sure hot blooded or cold as ice would be the show stopper. but it gave me plenty of time to count hickies in the audience.  17 hickies counted at the foreigner show.  tells you a little about the demograph of the foreigner faithful.  i got to the mountain stage just in time to catch the end of "mississippi queen".  

I found Best of Mountain in the 99 cent bin at the record store yesterday.  I would've bought it too if it hadn't scratched.

My brother had Foreigner 4 on 8-track.  That seemed like the coolest record in the world in 1981 for some reason...well, next to Dirty Deeds anyway.

got the weekend off (except sunday night at sluggo's)  but i have to come in sometime this weekend and clean up my classroom at the museum.  i've kinda let it get away.  going to my first opera sunday afternoon.  "la traviatta".  it's all about hookers, sex, greed, power, respect, and honor.  except it's all in italian.  lots of drinking, i think.  too much spare time on my hands.

I'm going to the opera, too! I'm going to see Il Trovatore on Saturday night!

there are a couple places right next door to each other on cooper, i think.  somewhere in there.  one of them is called "tsunami" and has really good  pepper seared tuna.  at least they did several years ago.  i forget what the other place is called, but it looked really good.  kind of a anniversary-type location. we were gonna go, but couldn't afford 2 expensive meals on the same trip.  you know the places?  ever been?
